Houston Rockets at Golden State Warriors: Golden State Warriors

The first game that has some actual draft impact for the Grizzlies, this matchup between the Rockets and the Warriors is going to be vastly different than what everyone was expecting at the start of the season.

The Warriors right now, instead of being in the hunt for another championship win, are the worst team in the league. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem for Memphis, who have always found themselves as a middle of the road team, falling around that 9-12 seed. However, this season, the Grizzlies are in the hunt for good draft position.

Currently, if the Grizzlies don’t land a top six pick then one of their two first round draft picks would go to the Boston Celtics. With the other pick almost certainly deferring back to the Utah Jazz. Because of this, the less teams that Memphis has to worry about being in the top 6 the better.

If the Warriors pull out a win in what is sure to be a one-sided matchup, the Grizzlies would be one step closer to a successful 2020 draft.
