As the decade draws to a close, and the Memphis Grizzlies look to build an entirely new system, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and build an All-Decade team.
The Memphis Grizzlies are now in the early stages of a franchise rebuild, and are beginning to turn away from the Grit ‘N Grind system that had worked for them during the early part of the decade.
As the results of the Grizzlies system go on to win NBA Finals, and lead once-struggling teams to a playoff berth, it’s important to look back and see who performed the best for the Grizzlies over the last 10 years.
As we build an All-Decade team, there are some ground rules that we have to follow:
1. The only seasons that are considered are the seasons that the player was with Memphis.
2. The player, in order to be eligible, must have been with the team for two full season (and yes, this means none of the rookies or sophomores on the team will be considered)
4. Specific positions aren’t counted, just guard, forward, or center.
So, with an honorary mention to Green, Ja Morant, Vince Carter, and Jaren Jackson Jr., this is the Memphis Grizzlies’ All-Decade team.
