3. Rudy Gay, Forward
Rudy Gay is another member of the Grizzlies that is often overlooked when fans think about the three-headed monster of Conley, Zach Randolph, and Marc Gasol. A major reason for this could be because Gay was actually only with the team for two seasons during this decade.
Despite that, Gay holds the special distinction of being one of only two players on this list that was actually drafted by the Grizzlies. Over the two years during the decade that he was in Memphis, Gay averaged 19.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game. Along with those impressive stats, Gay also shot a spectacular 46/35/79 split over two years.
Over the course of his career, Gay has been in the top-20 players in the league for points per game five times, and the top-20 in steals per game three times. He currently has the 14th most points among active players, and he’s been top-20 in defensive win shares twice.
Despite all this, and following a trend that seems to be developing over this list, Gay is surprisingly short on accolades. The only league award he’s received over the course of his career is being on the All-Rookie team, and being named Rookie of the Month just once.
