Memphis Grizzlies All-Decade Roster
By Ethan Becker
4. Zach Randolph, Forward
Jaren Jackson Jr. and Brandon Clarke both seem to be gunning for this spot. But with them not meeting all the criteria, it’s Zach Randolph’s to lose.
It’s been a roller coaster of a year for Z-Bo. He was signed to a multi-year contract with the Sacramento Kings back in 2017, only to start 2019 off with being traded, and then waived by the Dallas Mavericks. Having been without a job since February 8th, Randolph announced that he was hanging it up earlier this month.
Randolph was traded to the Grizzlies right before the decade began, and he made the All-Star team in his first season with Memphis. During the 2010’s, Randolph spent seven seasons with Memphis, averaging 16.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, and an impressive 2.0 assists per game.
Unlike some of his contemporaries on this list, Randolph has no shortage of accolades. He was the 2003-04 season’s Most Improved Player, he made the All-Star game in 2010 and 2013 (both as a member of the Grizzlies), he won four player of the week awards (again, all with Memphis), one player of the month award, and was nominated to the All-NBA third team back in the 2010-11 season.
