1. Ja Morant’s 50/40/90 club

This is by far the most impressive stat of this recent run. Over the last five games, Ja Morant has shot 59.4% from the field, 45.5% from 3-point range, and 90.9% from the free throw line.

Now, normally, the 50/40/90 club is reserved for players who average that over a season, but how many have been able to do it through five games? I mean, we have some amazing scorers like Russell Westbrook, James Harden, and LeBron James. Surely one of those future Hall of Famers has averaged 50/40/90 over his last five games, right?

Well, there are actually five guys in the league doing this right now, who attempt at least seven field goals, two 3-point shots, and two free throws a game. All of them are over 30, with the exception of Morant. If you look at the other four players — Lou Williams, Joe Ingles, Danilo Gallinari, and JJ Redick — it’s not horrible company to be in.

If Morant and Jackson Jr. can keep up this level of production, the Grizzlies would see immediate benefits. Perhaps this rebuilding process won’t be so long and agonizing after all.
