3. Kelly Oubre Jr.
It is no secret that Kelly Oubre Jr. is a stud on both ends of the floor and the return could be better if the Phoenix Suns were to shop him around. However, the Suns are still midway through their rebuild and would likely go after young players most contenders cannot offer. They lack quality backups and are currently sliding in the standings. Phoenix is in contention with the likes of stronger teams such as the New Orleans Pelicans and the Portland Trail Blazers and is likely to miss the playoffs yet again. The Suns also have a logjam at small forward and struggle to find minutes for Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson. Because of this, the Suns could look to make a move for some of the Grizzlies’ young core in Tyus Jones and Kyle Anderson.
This trade would allow Phoenix to find more minutes for their young wings and still have a reliable wing defender in Kyle Anderson to get stops. The Suns would also acquire a play-making backup PG in Tyus Jones behind the oft-injured veteran Ricky Rubio. If the Grizzlies add a couple picks into the package, say the incoming 2020 first round draft pick from the Jazz, Phoenix might find the offer intriguing enough to let Oubre Jr. walk away.
