The Memphis Grizzlies season kicks off today, with the third of four games in a series against the Sacramento Kings. Here are the talking points ahead of the most crucial part of the season for Memphis.
The last time we saw the Memphis Grizzlies play the Sacramento Kings on January 2nd, Memphis blew a 20 point lead in Sacramento in route to what was one of the worst losses of the season. The Grizzlies and Kings were both 13-22 at the time, in a game that looked to be a battle between fellow cellar dwellers.
This was a battle between De’Aaron Fox and Ja Morant, giving a little insight to the rematch Thursday night that will likely provide more of the same when the two star guards face off again.
The Grizzlies stars played well, with Ja notching 23 points and 7 assists, while Jaren had 18 points to go along with 7 rebounds. De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield combined for 53 points, sparking the Kings to a huge comeback victory.
Since that game was played, the Grizzlies are 15-4 and have been without a doubt playing the best basketball Memphis has seen over the last couple of seasons. Will the Grizzlies be able to overcome mental hurdles this time around and get revenge on the Kings? Here are the storylines ahead of the homestretch of the regular season.
