Examining the playoff scenarios for the Memphis Grizzlies.

Ever since the season was put in hiatus, and hopes were high to resume at some point, the question of what a playoff system in a postponed season would look like was on everybody’s mind. Some suggested that the NBA try out a play-in style tournament, similar to the NCAA’s, but others pointed out how that’s not entirely fair to current eighth seeds like the Memphis Grizzlies.

While that option hasn’t been entirely ruled out right now, there have been many other options that have come up and none of them seem to have a preference above the other. Because of this, the Memphis Grizzlies, who are currently in a position to make the postseason for the first time since 2017, have a very unclear future when it comes to the playoffs.

Normally, as the NBA season winds down, teams are able to look ahead and prepare for the series ahead. However, at this point, the NBA is looking to resume with around five to seven regular season games, and teams are still currently in the dark about what their postseason plans would be.

For the Memphis Grizzlies, who are the teams they need to keep an eye on, and what would the results of the different suggestions be?
