No.17: The Washington Wizards

Schedule Score: -0.3

Listen…I…I don’t know how this happened. I checked, and I double checked, and I went back over my math but…

The only opponents the Washington Wizards have a losing record against are the Milwaukee Bucks and the Indiana Pacers. Somehow, the only Eastern Conference team that is not in the current playoff picture, has managed not to garner a losing record against the three Eastern Conference and three Western Conference foes they will face. They’ve somehow ended up with a record score of four, the highest so far on this list and the tenth highest overall.

A stat like that really does show the limitations of a metric like this, as almost nobody would have the Washington Wizards as a viable threat in the return, as they just made the bubble by half of a game. And you say the regular season doesn’t matter.

Still, it’s going to be a tough road for Washington, as the only conceivably beatable teams on their schedule is the Phoenix Suns, which is their first game. After that, the Wizards will be thrown into the proving grounds, and it will be up to them to surprise us all.
