The Memphis Grizzlies will be fighting for a playoff spot when the season resumes, here are some of the most interesting matchups we’ll see.

After months of uncertainty and weirdness, we’re finally getting the NBA back. While the debate rages on about whether it’s safe or socially responsible to care about pro sports right now, the Memphis Grizzlies will aim to finish their season strong.

For those who need a refresher (it has been over four months, and seemed more like 40) Memphis sits eighth in the West. Lurking behind them are the New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers, who both pose serious threats to Memphis’ playoff hopes.

New Orleans has seen their fortunes turn after midseason 180s from Derrick Favors and Lonzo Ball, and – more notably – that Zion dude returning.

Portland was ransacked by injuries this year, riding an MVP-type season from Damian Lillard to remain afloat. They’re healthier now, with Jusuf Nurkic and Zach Collins back in the fold, raising their ceiling perhaps beyond Memphis’ threshold.

The Grizzlies have a lot working in their favor. From the dilution of other teams’ easier remaining schedules, to a healthy Justise Winslow, Brandon Clarke and Jaren Jackson Jr, Memphis has reason for optimism.

Join Beale Street Bears as we count down the Grizzlies’ NBA seeding games, ranking them in order of excitement and overall importance to their playoff push.
