Win: Dillon Brooks

It made the rounds on social media after the game, so it felt noteworthy enough to warrant its own mention, despite it falling into the honorable win mention above.

Back in February, before Andre Iguodala was traded to the Heat, the question of Iggy being a distraction in the locker room came up, and Dillion Brooks had this to say:

"“It’s not a distraction at all. I laugh at that type of stuff. A guy that’s on our team that doesn’t want to be on our team, I can’t wait til we can find a way to trade him so we can play him and show him what really Memphis is about.”"

Strong words, and at least in the basketball world, stuff like that is often called “bulletin board material”. If Brooks or the Grizzlies weren’t able to back that statement up, they’d look like a dog whose bark was worth than their bite.

Then, yesterday, Brooks recorded 23 points, 3 assists, and 1 steal on 66.7 percent shooting both from the field and from 3-point range. Iguodala notched 7 rebounds and 5 assists, but only recorded 2 points on 1-3 shooting from the field and 0-2 shooting from 3-point range. Safe to say, Memphis and Brooks backed up every word of that February interview.
