No. 1: Can Memphis stop the slide?

The Grizzlies first two games have not gone as expected. Yes, being down Tyus Jones certainly hurts, but the fact that Memphis haven’t been able to come out on top in two winnable games against opponents who struggled in Memphis before the hiatus is going to be demoralizing for the team.

One of the biggest keys to tonight’s game is going to be mental toughness. Memphis needs to forget about these last two games, put them behind them, and charge forward. However, that’s easier said than done, especially with a young team like Memphis.

Losing streaks like this tend to stick in the maw of young teams more than they do for experienced ones, and it can often be hard to stop a disastrous slide when you’re on one. Luckily, New Orleans is a fairly young team themselves, and their loses have been even more deflating than Memphis’. If Memphis can toughen up mentally, they could still overcome New Orleans.
