While the Memphis Grizzlies have been struggling since the restart of the NBA season, there is no question that this roster has a bright future in years to come.
Since the restart of the NBA season on July 31st, the Memphis Grizzlies are off to a rough start, going 0-3 in their first three games. The Grizzlies lost a heart-breaker in overtime to the Portland Trail Blazers on opening night, and suffered losses to the San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans on back-to-back nights. These disappointing results have put their playoff hopes in jeopardy, as they now only sit two games ahead of Portland for the 8th seed in the West.
But while the Grizzlies’ playoff picture might be in question in the present, their future is not.
Although they have dropped their first three games, the Grizzlies’ young roster has given fans A LOT to be excited about in the not-so-distant future over the course of this season, and could very well have a “big three” of their own in the making.
Over the past two seasons, there is an argument to be made that the Grizzlies have drafted better than any team in the NBA, selecting Jaren Jackson Jr. in 2018, and Ja Morant and Brandon Clarke in 2019. And these three have shown that they have what it takes to be the ground work for Memphis to build around for the future.
