4. Derrick Favors

The 29-year-old power forward was traded by the Utah Jazz to the New Orleans Pelicans last season. Favors has spent most of his career playing the power forward position but has also spent time playing at center when his teams would go small.

Favors is a traditional forward who spends most of time in the paint. Favors throughout his career has added to his offensive arsenal and has developed a nice mid-range game. Last season, Favors shot 46 percent between 10 feet and 16 feet from the basket. Developing a reliable mid-range game adds another component to Favors’ game that could help the Grizzlies. The threat of his shooting from that area could open up the floor for driving lanes for the Grizzlies’ guards.

Last season for the Pelicans, in 51 games he averaged 9 points per game and added almost 10 rebounds a game. Favors would bring a veteran presence that knows his role to the Grizzlies. He would be there to play good defense and to be an aggressive rebounder. Adding Favors would add depth at the forward position and a good role player.
