3 keys to the Grizzlies’ NBA Playoff push
Long-range success
In today’s NBA, it’s hard to succeed without a three-point shot. Whether you like it or not, it’s just where the game is at this point. The Grizzlies need to find ways to get better looks and the improve that aspect of their game, otherwise, this team isn’t going anywhere.
The Grizzlies are just 28th in three-pointers made per game, 27th in three-point attempts per game, and last in three-point percentage.
The three-pointer is a very effective weapon in today’s NBA, as a lot of the top teams rely on it, including the Jazz, Trail Blazers, and Nets, who make up the top three teams in three-point shots made per game.
If Memphis can take more open-look threes, not only can they score more, but it can lead to spreading the opposing defense more and finding inside looks to Valanciunas, Jaren, and other big men, along with slashing forwards.
If the Grizzlies can put these three things together, they should be well off into doing some damage in the playoffs this season. Memphis is in a very good spot where they can start competing even this season. With Jaren coming back, that should help the starting lineup a lot on both sides of the floor. Taking advantage of the three-pointer should also prove to be key in a Grizzlies playoff run.
