The Memphis Grizzlies were looking to get a win against the Mavericks as they approached a tough back-to-back series against the Los Angeles Clippers. They played a bad game and fell to Luka Doncic and company, dropping them below .500 once again.

On paper, it may not look like Memphis has a strong chance against the Clippers, but this team has surprised fans all year. They’ll go against the top 3-point shooting team in the league with a lot to prove. The Grizzlies may have had a rough stretch defending the three, but don’t expect this team to give up that easily.

The Grizzlies have the odds stacked against them, but can they pull an upset against the Clippers tonight? Our staff weighs in.

Jack Williams: The Clippers are one of the top teams in the league right now, playing strong basketball. But more importantly, this is a team that’s hitting a lot of 3-point shots, leading the league in shooting percentage from beyond the arch. If you’ve been following the Memphis Grizzlies, you’ll know that they’ve been seriously struggling with their 3-point defense. That being said, it’s hard to see any drastic changes in the past couple of days. They’ll drop this game, but put up a better fight than we’ve seen in some recent games.

Final Score: Grizzlies 112, Clippers 123

Brandon Martinez: The Clippers have had a great season. The Grizzlies have not. As much as I want to pick the Grizzlies here, I don’t see them stopping Kawhi and PG-13. They have carried a bulk of the scoring this season, so if the we could hold them or force one to have a bad game, along with the bench playing lights-out like they have been, then maybe I’d pick the Grizz, but I don’t see that happening. It won’t be close either.

Final Score: Grizzlies 108, Clippers 132

Max Chronister: With the Grizzlies coming into tonight’s game against the Clippers off of back to back losses, the team will need to break this ice cold shooting streak in order for the team to even compete with the dynamic duo of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. If the team can hit their stride from deep, then fans should look forward to a competitive game. Even if Memphis is on tonight, you never know what the opposing stars will bring to the court.

Final Score: Grizzlies 97, Clippers 104
