Gorgui Dieng

If there is anyone who deserves the most praise on this list, it’s Gorgui Dieng.

This man is the most underrated player on the roster. The fact that he’s playing at as high of a level as he is and is only getting 17 minutes per game, including playing only three minutes in Thursday night’s huge win against the Clippers, is a crime.

Dieng ranks highly in many advanced metrics for the Grizzlies this season, including being first in true shooting percentage, second in PER and box plus-minus, and fourth in win shares. He does all this while having only the 10th-highest usage rate.

Gorgui has been very productive both as a player and a teammate. It has shown as some of the younger bigs, such as Tillman and Clarke, have stepped up big for this team. His salary may put people off, but there are plenty of other players in the league that are being paid similarly and putting up much worse numbers.

While some players are having down years, there are plenty of players on this team that show promise. These are just a couple, but they deserve recognition for their exceptional play this season.
