Memphis Grizzlies’ all-time team, center: Zach Randolph

I know what you’re thinking. Yes, I’m putting a power forward at center, this will make more sense later and my 6th man will allow for more height on this team. But for now, Zach Randolph is going to be my starting center.

Z-Bo was basically a lock for the starting lineup. He’s one of the most tenacious players in the history of the NBA and the greatest Memphis Grizzly of all time. In the NBA a decade ago, positions may have been more set in stone, but today, Randolph would be a monster down low.

When our 6th man hits the floor, Randolph could switch over to the power forward position, allowing for an equally menacing lineup to take the court. The talent that this team has had over the years would eat today’s league alive.

His defense would not allow for any points down low in a less physical league. He didn’t take a ton of 3-pointers in his career, but he was able to get long balls to drop by the end of his career. He could be an ideal physical, floor-spacing center in today’s NBA.
