Going into the NBA All-Star Break, the Memphis Grizzlies are 16-16 and currently stand 10th in the Western Conference.

As you can tell by the record, it has been a very up and down season for second-year head coach Taylor Jenkins and this young Grizzlies team. There have been many lows, but certainly many highs to the season.

In a season that has been riddled with injuries and a five-game COVID-19 related hiatus, you have to take any wins that you can get. Fortunately for Memphis, the ceiling looks very high for this team.

The Memphis Grizzlies have shown promise, but can the players push this team over the top?

There are some things that very clearly the Grizzlies need to work on.

For instance, the Grizzlies are a bottom-ten team in terms of three-point shooting in the league, while also struggling to defend the three-point shot. They also struggle getting to the foul line which can be very key to winning, especially late-game.

However, they have shown some aspects of the game that they are very good at.

The Grizzlies bench is among the best in the league. They are top-3 in the league in points per game, assists per game, three-point percentage, and steals per game. As a whole, the team leads the league in steals per game, is third in the league in assists per game, and is 10th in rebounds per game.

On paper, this team has one of the deepest rosters in the league. A lot of this has to do with unexpected players stepping up. Let’s take a look at how each player has done at the break.
