The Memphis Grizzlies are one of the younger teams in the NBA and as a result, their G-League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle, receives more attention that many other teams.

Their young talent didn’t translate to results in the win-loss category with this team missing the G-League playoffs, but they had a strong year regardless. The season ended on a positive note, with the Hustle defeating the Delaware Blue Coats in their last game of the season.

This placed the Hustle at 6-9 on the season and just a few spots removed from a playoff position. That being said, only 8 of the 18 teams make the playoffs, so there was little room for error on the year.

Regardless of the stats though, this team played a great season, developing some young guys who could potentially make an impact on the Grizzlies in the future.

The Memphis Hustle were a perfect representation of the Grizzlies

In a lot of ways, the Hustle’s season reflected the Memphis Grizzlies play style. For starters, they didn’t stick out in any statistical category, but weren’t near the bottom of the pack in any category either.

Their most notable number was that they were the 4th-ranked rebounding team in the G-League. Clearly, physical basketball has been a huge point of emphasis for guys on this team. That’s a good sign, as the Grizzlies are one of few teams in the NBA that still play a physical brand of basketball.
