Memphis Hustle standout performers, continued

As I mentioned on the first slide, this is a team that has been great down low. Many players have played well in the front court, but one guy has stood above the rest. That man’s name is Freddie Gillespie.

The former Baylor Bear has been an absolute animal, controlling the paint and being an elite G-League rim protector. On the season, he averaged a double-double, bringing in over 10 rebounds per game. He’d also manage to block a jaw-dropping 2.3 shots per outing. Keep his name in mind, as he could be a guy who gets minutes on the Grizzlies in the future.

Another player who has been a big contributor for this team is Shaq Buchanan, Ja Morant’s former college teammate. He hasn’t been the most efficient player, struggling shooting the ball, but he has gradually improved his game. He can fix his shooting, but his aggressiveness and rebounding abilities have been promising.

It’s also worth noting that despite playing limited minutes, rookie Jontay Porter has played strong basketball. Like many guys, he struggled a bit from the field, but made up for it by averaging at least one steal and block per contest.

The list could go on and on, but for now, those were the top performers on the Memphis Grizzlies G-League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle.
