Staff score predictions for Memphis Grizzlies vs. Washington Wizards
It’s been a long All-Star break, but Memphis Grizzlies basketball is almost back. This team has had nearly a full week of rest and will be back at it in FedEx Forum on Wednesday night.
The Wizards will be a familiar team for Taylor Jenkins’ squad. The Grizzlies took care of business against this same team in their second-to-last game before the All-Star break. They should be able to handle things again.
That being said, we will not be seeing Jaren Jackson Jr. back, so this should be a competitive game.
Will the Memphis Grizzlies be able to make it a season sweep? Our staff weighs in.
Jack Williams: The Memphis Grizzlies had no trouble with the Washington Wizards in their last matchup, so things look good for game 2. Don’t expect Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal to make it easy though, as this is a team with serious talent. I still think the Grizzlies will take home the win, but it won’t be as pretty as the last game.
Final Score: Grizzlies 118, Wizards 109
Brandon Martinez: Even without Jaren Jackson Jr. playing, I imagine this game should be no problem for the Memphis Grizzlies. Coming off some much needed rest, this Grizzlies team should be ready to hit the ground running against a rather hot Wizards team. I think the Grizzlies win, and win big, at home to start off the second half of the season tonight.
Final Score: Grizzlies 121, Wizards 98
Thomas Welch: This should be another strong performance night for the Grizzlies. Even without JJJ, the team seems to be firing on all cylinders as of late. The week off should have the players rested, focused and ready to hand the Wizards another loss as the second half of the season tips off.
Final Score: Grizzlies 119, Wizards 103
AJ Salah: In the last matchup between these two teams, the Memphis Grizzlies won with ease. The Wizards have been playing strong basketball though, and they won’t make it easy for Taylor Jenkins and company. That being said, their win streak isn’t as good as it may seem on the surface, as a lot of the wins were against inferior teams and strong teams that didn’t need to win the game. The Grizzlies will win this game.
Final Score: Grizzlies 124, Wizards 118
