Memphis Grizzlies lottery prospect: Corey Kispert

Corey Kispert from Gonzaga is a 6’7″ 220-pound senior who was recently named the best shooter in the draft by The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie. Kispert is shooting an absurd 54.4/44.4/89/8 from the field. He is excellent at shooting off the catch, in transition and has shown the ability to shoot while moving and off the dribble.

He has been compared to Joe Harris due to their size and the similarity of how they score. Just like Harris, Kispert went to a 1A school, which is one of the smallest classifications in Washington state.

Kispert doesn’t have the quickest feet defensively, but makes up for it with being in the right spot due to his defensive IQ. He also has greatly improved as a scorer in his last 3 years, primarily scoring out of the pick and roll and putting the ball on the deck.

Kispert is number 11 on Vecenie’s latest big board. I currently have him at number 7 on my personal big board, but if the Grizzlies don’t make the playoffs, he is a player they should definitely target and possibly trade up for.
