Memphis Grizzlies late-round pick: Chris Duarte

Chris Duarte from Oregon is a 6’6″ 190-pound senior. He is an older prospect who will be 24 years old in June and was named the 8th best shooter in the draft by Vecenie and is 31st overall on his big board.

But with his shooting ability and defense, has a shot to rise on draft boards and be around a top-20 pick. If Memphis makes the playoffs, he’s certainly a guy they should look at later in the first round.

He’s a strong shooter, coming into Thursday’s game against Arizona State shooting a solid 53.3/44.0/80.6 from the field. He’d give the Grizzlies a much-needed boost from 3-point range.

Duarte is also a pretty good defender that has the ability to guard the 2 and the 3 pretty well and can put in on the deck. He’s a quality basketball player and possibly the 2nd-best player in the Pac-12.

Overall, Duarte is a tough player who can defend and knock down shots and should be a guy the Grizzlies should target if they don’t make the playoffs.
