The last time the Memphis Grizzlies and the Phoenix Suns faced each other, the Grizz went home with frowns on their faces and a 31-point loss, tied for their worst deficit on the season.

It was a bad game from start to finish and there were little to no positives to take away.

Having said that, this game will be entirely different. The Grizzlies’ lineup was decimated with injuries in their second matchup, so the results were skewed from what one would normally expect from a game between these two teams.

This time around, the Grizzlies are fully healthy, with the exception of Jaren Jackson Jr., who has been out with a meniscus injury for 7 months.

The Memphis Grizzlies have shown that they can beat the Phoenix Suns

I know it’s hard to ignore, but if you can get past last matchup’s ugly final score, you’ll see that the Grizzlies actually defeated the Suns earlier in the year.

On a January 18th matchup, the Grizzlies took down Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and the Suns with a final score of 108-104. Reflecting on this game will open your eyes to the fact that this can be an extremely competitive series.

In the close game between these teams, we saw the Grizzlies share production across the board. It wasn’t an explosive performance from Ja Morant, or a 30-20 game from Jonas Valanciunas, it was just a really solid game offensively and defensively.

In fact, we should expect tonight’s game to come down to the wire. Again, a tough Grizzlies loss against the Thunder on Sunday might be hard to look past, but as long as Memphis is playing at their normal level of play, there is no reason why this game will not be competitive until the end.

This team will play with a chip on their shoulder after their bad loss on Sunday and should show up with a winning attitude.

The Grizzlies have too much depth. dark. Next

Look for this game to become scrapping and ugly offensively, as both of these teams will be extremely tired. The Grizzlies played the day before, while the Suns played a game two days ago, so these teams will be winded.
