Bradley Beal should be a trade target for the Memphis Grizzlies
Would Bradley Beal make the Grizzlies an instant contender?
It’s really hard to say what this team would look like with Bradley Beal on the roster. For starters, Memphis would have to give up some pretty serious capital, even with Beal on an expiring contract.
Secondly, this team has been hovering around .500 without Beal and without Jackson Jr., so you have to assume that they’d be really good with both of those guys in the lineup.
Beal fits right into the only clear soft spot in this Grizzlies lineup. Ja Morant has the point guard position locked down, Kyle Anderson has the small forward spot in a good place, JJJ is a franchise power forward, and Jonas Valanciunas has had a great season at the center spot.
This isn’t a knock against Dillon Brooks, who has been doing a really solid job at the shooting guard spot. It just seems like that’s the most vulnerable position right now, even with an improving Desmond Bane getting some starts recently.
If the Grizzlies want to make a push, Beal is the guy who can make a difference on Beale Street. The league’s leading scorer would turn a .500 Grizzlies team into an instant contender. It’s hard to see a team with Morant, Jackson, and Beal not make a long playoff run.
