Memphis Grizzlies F Brandon Clarke has shown that he can be an NBA starter

If there has been a guy who has taken advantage of a Jaren Jackson Jr.-less roster, it’s Brandon Clarke. A lot of players will wither when they’re thrown into the spotlight, but not Clarke.

Instead, Clarke has stepped up and proven that he can be a leader at his position.

In Jackson Jr.’s absence, Clarke has picked up four extra minutes per game from his rookie year. While his stats don’t look drastically different, he has stayed consistent on offense while improving his defensive capabilities.

Of the young players on this team, Clarke feels like he has one of the highest ceilings. He’s a versatile player who can go big or small, depending on the lineup. He can also shoot, rebound, steal, etc. He can do it all.

Even if he doesn’t end up starting, Clarke has shown that he could be a long-term 6th man option for a team that will likely have Jaren Jackson Jr. as the starting power forward as long as possible.
