The Memphis Grizzlies didn’t leave FedEx Forum on Friday night with the results that they were expected. An injury-riddle Warriors team came to Memphis and dominated the Grizzlies.

The results can be slightly misleading, but the Grizzlies trailed the entire game and looked like the worse team. The only bright spot was Jonas Valanciunas, who has been the Grizzlies only bit of consistency in 2021.

Unfortunately for fans of the Memphis basketball team, the bad version of their showed up to play on Friday. The silver lining here is that we’ve seen this team have two completely different performances, even in back-to-back games like this.

Will the Memphis Grizzlies be able to split the series against the Golden State Warriors? Our staff weighs in.

Jack Williams: The Memphis Grizzlies were completely dismantled on Friday night, but don’t expect this to happen again. I think we’ll see a good, motivated Grizzlies team that won’t want to lose two in a row to a Warriors team without some key contributors. It almost feels like they’d have a better chance if Steph Curry was back in the lineup. Regardless, I think JV will do his thing and Ja Morant will have a strong game, giving the Grizz a W.

Final Score: Memphis Grizzlies 122, Golden State Warriors 108

Taylor Goebel: Coming off a low scoring affair against the Miami Heat which ended in a win for the Grizzlies, they now have the second of back-to-back games against the Golden State Warriors in Memphis. Warrior star Stephen Curry injured his back in a scary fall their previous game, and will have a big impact on the result of this game in my opinion. If he doesn’t play it will still be a tough task to tackle, and if he does play it will be even more of a challenge for the Grizzlies to overcome.

Final Score: Memphis Grizzlies 110, Golden State Warriors 118

Caleb Anglin: After their loss last night against Golden State, the Grizzlies really need this next game to be a dub. It’s a revenge game for the boys in the 901. Andrew Wiggins had 40 points last night due to Curry’s absence, but I do not believe that will happen again. I actually think Ja Morant goes for 25+ and dishes the rock quite a bit. Ending the night with a double-double and a W.

Final Score: Memphis Grizzlies 109, Golden State Warriors 102

Brandon Martinez: After losing to the injury-riddled Warriors last night, the Grizzlies look to bounce back tonight in game 2 of the back-back-series against the Dubs. If the Grizzlies lose tonight again, this team would lose a lot of credibility in being a playoff team. I see tonight as a must-win for them to get back on track. They will get the win and do it with ease.

Final Score: Memphis Grizzlies 115, Golden State Warriors 92
