The Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors have split their last ten games in FedEx Forum. It’s a weird stat, but a reminder of how competitive these two teams have been against each other.

In an important series for the Western Conference playoff race, the Grizzlies and Warriors would end up splitting wins.

Without Stephen Curry, Eric Paschall, and Marquese Chriss, the Warriors won’t complain about these results. That being said, they showed up in Memphis on Friday ready to win.

The first game between these teams was a blowout. The final score would only show a 13-point margin, but this Memphis team was dominated the entire night. It was a bad look for the Grizz, who have been known to struggle against teams that they should beat.

The Memphis Grizzlies bounced back, as they have all season

Somehow though, the outlook felt positive for game 2. Say what you want about the Grizzlies, but this team knows how to bounce back after a really ugly loss. There have been multiple points in the season where it looked like they may be ready to give up, but instead, they bounce back with a strong win.

That’s the thing about this win though — it wasn’t that big of a victory. The Grizzlies, in all respects, should have won both of these games. Looking back, nobody will be upset about a split series with the Golden State Warriors, but this was an opportunity that Taylor Jenkins and his team squandered.

Thankfully, it’s a net-positive situation. Along the way, this team learned a few things about themselves. Here are 3 takeaways from the Memphis Grizzlies’ 2-game series against the Golden State Warriors.
