Memphis Grizzlies Key No. 2: Outscore the Celtics in bench points

When the Celtics stars are off the floor, the Grizzlies have to capitalize. Generally speaking, Boston plays their starters for a large portion of each game, leaving their bench out for the most part. This shows, as the Celtics are 26th in the NBA in bench scoring.

The Grizzlies, on the other hand, sit at the inverse position with the 4th-highest bench scoring output per game.

If Memphis wants to get the win, they’ll have to capitalize on their strengths. There is only so much they can do to slow down Brown and Tatum, but the Grizzlies’ young talent on the bench can turn this game around.

Either way, we’ll probably see more bench scoring from Memphis, but Taylor Jenkins will have to make sure that this is a wide margin if he wants any chance of a victory.

It’ll be a tight game, but look for lots of swings in scoring, especially as the starters and bench players sub in and out of the game.
