So we have the when, or at least a general idea. We have the how. But we don’t have the other how. The other how is how good they’ll actually be in relation to other NBA duos.
A lot of this will depend on how comfortable Jaren Jackson Jr. looks upon his return from injury, but we should expect these two to form one of the better duos in the league.
In fact, beyond LeBron James and Anthony Davis, it’s hard to find any other big man duos that clearly beat out the Memphis Grizzlies. That said, Jonas Valanciunas still has to prove that he can keep up his strong play with his young counterpart back in the game.
It’ll likely take some time for these guys to settle in with one another, but if JJJ continues to progress and if JV can keep playing at the same level, these guys are an easy top-5 NBA big man duo.
