How did Memphis Grizzlies G Grayson Allen perform for Duke basketball?

Grayson Allen was a lot of things in college, but likable was not one of them. He became the unofficial villain of NCAA basketball when he single-handedly scored 9 straight points in the 2015 National Championship to help Duke win the title.

He’d finish the game with 16 points, proving that he can show up when he needs to. Hopefully the Grizzlies will see some of this crunch-time prowess, but for now, they’ll just be fighting for a playoff spot.

Other than the National Championship, Grayson Allen didn’t do much during the 2014-15 season for the Duke Blue Devils. He was lost behind a roster of NBA-caliber players, but found playing time in select games.

Outside of a 9-point game in the final four against Michigan State and the aforementioned 16-point game, Allen only had one notable performance. He scored 27 points in a regular season game against Wake Forest, shooting over 80% and hitting 4 threes.

It would be the first of many 3-point explosions in a Blue Devils uniform, as he would eventually improve to the point of being drafted 21st overall by the Utah Jazz. He would eventually be acquired by the Grizzlies in a deal that also sent Jae Crowder to the team.
