The Memphis Grizzlies have an extremely young roster. In fact, the Grizzlies actually have the youngest roster in the NBA after waiving Gorgui Dieng.
That roster is highlighted by many players, but Ja Morant headlines this team. He’s the leader of the Grizzlies and nothing is going to change that. Game tied with a few seconds left and the ball will always be in his hands.
But taking a step back, Morant is still only 21 years old. He may play beyond his years, but he is barely old enough to drink alcohol. The young point guard has decades of basketball ahead of him but has given us a glimpse into his future.
If you don’t believe that he can bring success to this Grizzlies franchise, you must be watching a different sport than the rest of us.
Here are 3 reasons why Ja Morant will bring an NBA Championship to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Memphis Grizzlies PG Ja Morant has a winning attitude
Say what you want about Ja Morant, but the kid has a winning attitude. He doesn’t back down from challenges.
We saw a strong example of this in a Friday night game against the Utah Jazz. The Jazz are the best team in the NBA, but Morant didn’t seem to care. He buckled down and played one of his best games of the season.
In fact, Morant specifically targeted Rudy Gobert and attacked him in the paint. An example of his giant-slaying abilities can be seen in the following tweet:
It’s Ja’s willingness to see a challenge and go after it that has to get fans excited about his future. If he’s not afraid to back down from one of the best defenders in the league now, who knows what he’ll be doing a few years down the road.
