Timing is everything for Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies

Ja Morant is starting his career at a great time in the NBA. Had he entered the league ten years ago, he would have had to make it past LeBron James each year.

That said, LeBron is 36 years old. Yes, he’s still playing like a 26-year old, but he can’t keep this up long. Eventually, old age will get to him and his career will come to an end. So much of his game relies on physical dominance which simply cannot last into his forties.

Morant, on the other hand, is 21 years old. He’ll be entering his prime when LeBron is completely out of the league, so unless somebody as dominant steps up in place of the King, the path to the NBA Finals will never be easier.

Morant will learn to capitalize. Once LeBron is gone, the Western Conference will be wide open. We’re already seeing this start to happen with the Utah Jazz taking control of the conference. They’re not a team with a single superstar, but a more well-rounded squad.

Next. The Grizzlies have the youngest roster in the NBA. dark

This is the position that Ja Morant can put this Grizzlies team into. In a vulnerable west, it’s time for Morant and company to step up. With Jackson Jr. returning, this team can make some noise in the playoffs as early as this season.
