The Memphis Grizzlies will finally have a secure rotation with Jaren Jackson Jr. back

It would be unfair to say that the Memphis Grizzlies don’t have a secure rotation at this point in the season. After trying a handful of lineups throughout the year, Taylor Jenkins seemingly landed on the team’s permanent lineup recently.

An injury to Grayson Allen could have impacted the way this team looks moving forward, but before that, here’s what the lineup looked like:

PG: Ja Morant

SG: Grayson Allen

SF: Dillon Brooks

PF: Kyle Anderson

C: Jonas Valanciunas

It’s unclear exactly who will be left out of the starting lineup upon Jaren Jackson Jr.’s return, but there will be changes made. When Jackson Jr. was in the starting lineup last season, the Grizzlies played Dillon Brooks at the two-spot with Kyle Anderson sliding down to the three.

In all likelihood, this is what we’ll see upon JJJ’s return. It’ll make a crowded shooting guard room seem even more crowded, but it may be a necessary evil for his team.

That said, this will likely be a very secure lineup. The Grizzlies will need to establish some stability before the playoffs and I think Jenkins will make that clear with the lineup that he goes with upon JJJ’s return.

This should help a lot for a team that has struggled with consistency throughout the year. Expect this Grizzlies team to find a new identity and play at an even level each night.
