The Memphis Grizzlies are almost a really good team

Throughout this series, one thing became abundantly clear about the Grizzlies: they’re not quite on the same level as the Jazz. It wasn’t really something that needed to be said, but it hit everybody square in the face after the third straight loss.

Memphis is still missing their second-best player, but they had shown extreme competitiveness against strong teams all year. For a lot of fans, there was a sliver of hope that they would be able to bring home at least a single victory, but that never happened.

That said, they were extremely competitive in two of the three games. In fact, in game one, this Grizzlies team almost mounted a comeback after trailing by 17 points in the 4th quarter. If a Dillon Brooks game-tying shot had a little bit more power, we could be talking about a signature win on the season. But it fell short.

And that’s where this Grizzlies team stands without Jackson Jr. in the lineup. An exciting young team that seems to fall just short.

While it can be frustrating to watch now, you have to be optimistic about the future of this team based on how they played in this series.
