The Memphis Grizzlies have drafted a handful of players with potential to start

Brandon Clarke (2019 Draft, Round 1, Pick 21): The former Gonzaga Bulldog has been a spark of energy for the Memphis Grizzlies. After a rookie season that was full of floaters and inside scoring, Clarke has managed to add some aspects to his game.

In his second season, his role has gotten bigger, but his numbers haven’t necessarily increased accordingly. That said, he looks like a more mature player out there on the court. Perhaps he was thrust into his role too early. Regardless, there are few negatives to be said about the young forward.

Grade: B

Dillon Brooks (2017 Draft, Round 2, Pick 45): The 25-year old forward will be the oldest player listed here. It feels that way when you watch him play, too. Despite having played three full seasons in the league, Brooks brings a veteran presence to a young Grizzlies starting lineup.

He can be a lethal scorer when he’s on and he’s a vital piece of this team moving forward. As a key starter on this team, he has averaged over 16 points per contest in each of his last two seasons. His efficiency has dropped a bit in year four, but that is likely due to the absence of Jaren Jackson Jr. to space the floor.

After being picked by the Houston Rockets with the 45th overall pick, he would be immediately traded and sign with the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies have to be thrilled with how this second-round pick has performed.
