Memphis Grizzlies PG Ja Morant will not receive as much attention from opposing teams

Piggybacking on the previous point, Ja Morant will not receive nearly as much attention from opposing teams as he currently does.

Think of it like this: if opposing teams spend 30% of their time in practice focused on Morant, they’ll have to lower that number to something like 15% to make room for Jaren Jackson Jr. in their game plan. It’s not as black and white as that, but they’ll have to make some sacrifices if they want to be able to guard both of these players.

As a result of this, we’ll likely see Morant’s assist numbers receive a bump at the end of the season. He already increased his passing average from last year, so this could be a huge step in the right direction for Morant.

Add this to the fact that a large portion of Morant’s assists last season went to JJJ and you have a recipe for an explosive offense at the tail end of 2021. Jackson Jr. will provide a reliable option for dump-off and kick-out passes for the remainder of the season.

Expect a huge offensive boost for Morant in every category, but most notably in his assist totals.
