The Memphis Grizzlies won a team game with help from some key performers
This category is dedicated to certain players who really stepped up for this team. They weren’t just good — they were the reason that the Grizzlies were able to win the game. It was hard to weed these out in such a competitive game, but it had to be done. Here are the key performers from Friday night’s win against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Jonas Valanciunas: Jonas Valanciunas has been playing so well that a strong performance doesn’t seem like that big of a deal anymore. With 19 points and 11 boards, this was a normal night for the Lithuanian big man. Oh yeah, and he did all of this despite early foul trouble. Look for his double-double streak to continue for a long time.

Kyle Anderson: Kyle Anderson had one of the most Kyle Anderson games that Kyle Anderson has had. Have I said Kyle Anderson enough? Slow-Mo put on a show against the Timberwolves, scoring only 7 points, but dishing out 7 assists, pulling in 8 boards, and collecting a steal and a block to add to it. He was an unsung hero on a night without a sung hero.

De’Anthony Melton: De’Anthony Melton continued his hot streak on Friday night with another strong performance. The young guard put up 14 points on 4-6 shooting from beyond the arch off of the bench. His +17 was among the best on the team and he tacked on 3 steals, 3 assists, and 2 offensive rebounds. He was all over the court and showed us why his nickname is “Mr. Do Something.”
