The Memphis Grizzlies entered a game against the Philadelphia 76ers with cautious optimism. They had performed well against the 76ers this season, but couldn’t take a game against a strong team lightly.

Entering the game, the 76ers were in sole ownership of the 1 seed in the Eastern Conference Playoff race. The Grizzlies would erase that title. After a home loss, this talented team now shares the same record as a Brooklyn Nets team that also lost today.

For the Grizzlies, this is a huge win. For the most part, Memphis has been bouncing back and forth between wins against bad teams and losses against good teams. They turned the tide in Philadelphia on Sunday night.

The Memphis Grizzlies replicated the success of their last game

The 76ers are a better team by far, but this Grizzlies win felt very similar to their win on Thursday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Timberwolves are, for lack of a better term, a terrible NBA team at the present moment.

The Grizzlies’ success in that game felt good but didn’t seem sustainable against better teams in the league. On Sunday night, the Grizzlies proved that idea wrong.

They did this on the back of a strong 3-point shooting night. The starters played well, but the bench players were the ones who made the difference this time. A stacked Grizzlies roster from top-to-bottom could get Memphis into the playoffs this season.

Let’s take a look at the key performers in Sunday night’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
