If the Memphis Grizzlies repeat history, they’ll be a perennial playoff team

As previously stated, this year’s Grizzlies team is ahead of schedule. Ja Morant has put the team on his back and brought them to a winning record so far in 2021. If they can continue this success, they’ll be in the 8th spot of the Western Conference NBA Playoffs.

Of course, this would put them in the play-in tournament, but this year’s positioning specifically is relatively irrelevant for this argument. The main idea is that the 2020-21 squad will be ahead of where the 2009-10 team was.

Following the 2009-10 season for the Memphis Grizzlies, they would reach the playoffs for 7 consecutive years. As we all know, the Grizz would never win an NBA Title, but they showed an impressive level of consistency for nearly a decade.

If the Grizzlies are truly ahead of schedule, that means that they will have an opportunity to repeat this impressive run. Only this time, they’ll be taking a stab at the NBA Finals.

Next. Grizzlies should sign Marc Gasol if he is bought out. dark

If Morant, Jackson Jr., and their supporting cast continue to develop as players, the sky is the limit for this team. The franchise is well-run, so the team’s past success should give confidence that they can repeat an impressive feat for a small-market team.
