Ja Morant is well-known for his game on the court for the Memphis Grizzlies. He’s one of the most explosive athletes in the history of the NBA. When he gets going in transition, there isn’t a single player in the league who can keep up with him defensively.

Because of this, he is one of the most exciting players to watch in the NBA. Morant could have an extremely quiet game, but he’ll still manage to make a couple of eye-popping plays.

In fact, that has been exactly what has been happening for Morant in recent games. He hasn’t been playing his best basketball, but he has been loud on the court when he does make plays. That said, his sneaker game never takes a day off.

Ja Morant was recognized as one of the biggest sneakerheads in the NBA

On Tuesday, CBS Sports dropped their most recent NBA Sneaker King Power Rankings. The Power Rankings dedicate a 10-player list to the league’s best sneakerheads.

On the list, you’ll find players like Luka Doncic, Kevin Durant, and a handful of other NBA Stars. The list is largely comprised of high-profile active NBA players who care a lot about their sneaker game. Oftentimes, they’ll shout out the players who are outspoken about which kicks they lace up come game time.

And that was the case for Ja Morant, who was recognized for a series of shoes that he wore over the past week. Here’s what Ruben Palacios of CBS Sports had to say about Ja Morant’s recent resurgence in the sneaker game.

"Luckily for Morant, his stockpile of Nike Kobe kicks seems to have been replenished since that tweet and he’s been showing off nothing but heat since."

What Palacios is referring to is a tweet that Morant put out in March announcing that he had run out of Kobes to wear. This tweet created a buzz and Morant would clearly bounce back from this, throwing on a few pairs of new shoes in the following weeks.

Most notably, Morant threw on a pair of 2010 original Kobe 5s this week in a Lakers-dedicated colorway. He would also be seen in two pairs of sneakers from the Kobe “Prelude Collection,” with Kobe 5s and 6s on his feet.

In all likelihood, this isn’t the last of Morant’s new sneakers that we’ve seen. Keep an eye on his feet in the coming games, as he’s the hottest in the NBA right now.
