Ranking the entire Memphis Grizzlies roster by future potential
Memphis Grizzlies player potential rankings: No. 6-4
At this point, we’re getting into the players that have real star potential in this league. Any of the players that you’ll read about in this slide are young enough to become great players in this league in future years. They could be key players in many future Memphis playoff runs.
6. Brandon Clarke: Brandon Clarke is extremely athletic and can be explosive on the offensive end. He hasn’t had much of an opportunity to consistently receive big minutes, but he has been a spark of energy on this team for a couple of years. He has all of the intangibles that will get you excited about him as a player, it’s just a matter of when he gets the chance to show them off.
5. Desmond Bane: Speaking of surprises, the only player who was as much of a surprise as Xavier Tillman Sr. was Desmond Bane. As the final pick in the first round to a team that already had depth at the shooting guard spot, it was unclear if he would even receive playing time. That said, he has become the most consistent shooter and an aggressive player on defense. It’ll be fun to watch him progress over the next few years.
4. De’Anthony Melton: De’Anthony Melton this high on the list may come as a surprise. That said, it’s important to remember that he’s only 22 years old. The Grizzlies have him pinned down on a long-term contract, so he should continue to be a key part of this team’s rotation. He has been a strong scorer and Mr. Do Something has earned his nickname this year.
