The Memphis Grizzlies would get, for lack of a better term, sauced by the Denver Nuggets on Monday night. Nothing went right and for the first time in a while, the Grizzlies looked bad in every facet of the game. It was a rough one, especially after such a strong back-to-back against the Trail Blazers.

That said, there were a few silver linings for the Grizz.

Firstly, Ja Morant played an excellent game, finishing with 27 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds, and a steal. Even better — he had one of his most efficient games of the season, finishing the contest having scored on 10 of his 15 shots.

Memphis Grizzlies PG dropped our jaws with an eye-popping play

Everybody knows that you can’t eat nuggets without sauce — Denver took care of that by saucing the Grizzlies. That said, nuggets are even worse if they’re not cooked, which is why Ja Morant cooked three Denver Nuggets on a single play.

Forgive the bad pun, I couldn’t help myself.

On a serious note, Ja Morant put on another show for Grizzlies fans. He was balling out all night, but one play, in particular, stood out. It can be seen below in a tweet from the official Memphis Grizzlies Twitter account.

As you can see, Morant split two very good defenders, Paul Millsap and Facundo Campazzo, with a behind-the-back dribble move, but wasn’t done there. He’d have to face Michael Porter Jr. in the paint and a soaring Millsap coming from behind.

That was no problem for Morant, who performed a beautiful up-and-under move to cap off an incredible play that looked way too easy.

The further we get into the season, the more it seems like Morant is good for at least one of these impossible plays in each contest. He’s a walking highlight reel. Even better, he has found a sense of consistency in every aspect of the game.

Before, you may not see Morant have a flashy play for a week or two. Then he would put on a show with four or five of these plays on a single night. Lately, he has been doing this in every single contest.

Hopefully, he can continue this through the playoffs, as the Grizzlies need a surge of energy every single night from their leader.
