The Memphis Grizzlies were playing extremely well in the month of April before hitting a two-game skid against the Denver Nuggets and Portland Trail Blazers. After two straight blowout losses, a matchup against a pretty bad team in the Orlando Magic couldn’t come at a more timely moment.

The Magic are in the Eastern Conference in a dogfight against the Detroit Pistons to determine who will be the worst in their conference. Luckily for Memphis, they’ll face Orlando twice and Detroit in about a week.

It’s hard to say that anything is an automatic win in the NBA, but these are games that the Grizzlies should be winning.

The Magic were led by Nikola Vucevic in almost every statistical category. That said, they entered full tank mode by trading Vucevic away, acquiring future picks and a couple of young players in the process. This Magic team is still in search of a leader, so if the Grizzlies need a win, it’ll come against a scattered club at home.

Can the Memphis Grizzlies take care of business? Our contributors weigh in.

Jack Williams (Site Expert): The Memphis Grizzlies are in desperate need of a win to stay in the chase for the 6 seed in the Western Conference Playoffs. They’ll face the Magic, who may be the worst team in the league. Memphis should be able to handle Orlando, but we’ve seen them struggle against similar teams. Actually, we’ve seen them struggle against worse teams. As long as the Grizz stay disciplined and remember that they’re the better team, this should be a walk in the park. Expect Jaren Jackson Jr.‘s shot to finally start falling.

Final Score: Memphis Grizzlies 132, Orlando Magic 108

Taylor Goebel: The Grizzlies host Orlando Friday night and will look to rebound from their loss against Portland the other night when they lost 130-109. The Grizzlies are in a solid position to at the very minimum make the play-in tournament for the playoffs this year but are looking to climb the seedlings still as this season comes to an end. The Magic are the 3rd worst team in the league this year record-wise and it would be a shock if Memphis dropped this game.

Final Score: Memphis Grizzlies 118, Orlando Magic 105
