After an incredible month of basketball in April, the Memphis Grizzlies have become victim to a rough patch. After dropping a game to a terrible Orlando Magic team without their head coach, the Grizzlies lost to a red-hot New York Knicks team in a game that had a controversial ending.

In two prior matchups between these teams, the Grizzlies were able to take home wins. Here are the final scores of those games.

  • Grizzlies 118, Timberwolves 107
  • Grizzlies 120, Timberwolves 108

If the trend continues, the Grizzlies should be able to take down the Timberwolves in a similar fashion. That said, Minnesota is a team that has won six of its last nine games. They won’t be so easy to topple this time around.

Can the Memphis Grizzlies get the season sweep? Our contributors weigh in.

Jack Williams (Site Expert): I have to take the Grizzlies here. Even though the Timberwolves are arguably the hotter team, this is a game that Memphis should win. They have a better roster top-to-bottom, and even with some struggles lately, they should dominate Minnesota. That said, Minnesota has nothing to lose, so I expect them to give the Grizzlies their best. That said, I think Jaren Jackson Jr. will have a great game and close it out in the end, but it’ll be a tight matchup for 48 minutes.

Final Score: Memphis Grizzlies 111, Minnesota Timberwolves 107

Taylor Goebel: The Grizzlies will look to take on Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves on Wednesday night. After dropping two straight games, Ja Morant and the Grizzlies hope to rebound and get the win against a Minnesota team that has already been eliminated from the playoff contention. For Memphis though, every game counts more and more as the days go on and they still could wind up missing the playoffs if they don’t play their cards right. I think the Grizzlies take a step in the right direction and take home the win against the lowly Timberwolves.

Final Score: Memphis Grizzlies 118, Minnesota Timberwolves 110

Justin Churchill: The Memphis Grizzlies are taking on the Timberwolves, a team who may start looking to win fewer games than they really want to. With the season coming to a near end, the Timberwolves are now fighting for a better lottery spot, instead of a better playoff spot. The Grizzlies will look to bounce back after their loss to the Knicks, and use this game as an advantage in a tightened Western Conference. I think in this one we could see players like Ja Morant and Dillion Brooks have big games due to the Timberwolves’ inability to guard the perimeter.

Final Score: Memphis Grizzlies 120, Minnesota Timberwolves 101
