The Memphis Grizzlies have really hit a skid in this series. After shocking the world in game 1, taking down the Utah Jazz, Donovan Mitchell returned. This would prove to be a big obstacle for the Grizz, who haven’t gotten a win since then.

That said, the series is not over.

There’s still a lot of basketball to be played and Memphis will have a chance to right the ship on Wednesday night in Salt Lake City.

Strangely, the Grizzlies have had better luck on the road this season than they have at home. It’s hard to say that they’re at an advantage in Salt Lake City, but for some reason, they play more motivated on the road.

On Wednesday night, they’ll be on the brink of elimination against a team that has bested them in three straight games.

Can the Memphis Grizzlies stay alive in the playoffs? Our contributors weigh in.

Jack Williams (Site Expert): This is a really tough game to predict. On paper, it’s hard to see Memphis winning, but at the same time, this is a team that wins when the odds are stacked against them. Maybe I’m just being a homer but I truly believe that the Grizzlies have a chance in this game. Expect a huge game out of Ja Morant, who has proven that he can step up when the season is on the line. I also expect Jonas Valanciunas to finally have a good game in this series after a very quiet start to the playoffs for him. Overall, I think Memphis will win a close one. Or at least I hope they will.

Final Score: Memphis Grizzlies 121, Utah Jazz 119

Taylor Goebel: With Memphis down 3-1 in the series against the Jazz, game 5 is going to be a last-ditch effort to stay alive. The Grizzlies are going to need everyone at the top of their game on Wednesday, and even if that happens will still need some sort of outside help in order to come out on top. With game 5 being played back in Utah, that will give the Jazz an extra boost with fans playing a big role in some of these games. Even with three players scoring 20+ points, Memphis still came up short and couldn’t take advantage of home court. Donovan Mitchell’s presence on the court just gives the Utah offense exactly what it was missing while he was sidelined and it shows with his play thus far. As much as I want to say Memphis will stay alive, I think the Jazz close out the series on Wednesday.

Final Score: Memphis Grizzlies 106, Utah Jazz 120
