The Memphis Grizzlies could stick with the 10th overall pick, where they will find a boom-or-bust player

The obvious option is the simplest option — make your pick at No. 10. Right now, there’s no pressing reason to give away any more than you need if you’re the Grizzlies.

Moving up toward the 10th spot gives them less risk and more guaranteed reward, no matter who they end up picking. Rather than deciding between Jalen Johnson and Chris Duarte, Memphis may find themselves in a situation where they’re choosing between Davion Mitchell and Moses Moody, two guys who have more well-rounded games.

There is a lot of talent in this draft, especially on the wing, so Memphis chose a good time to be a late lottery team. Moving up to the 10th overall pick only gives them an upgrade. It gives them a much wider range of players to choose from.

The Grizzlies will want to test the waters and see who will be available around the 10th overall pick. If their options are slim, they’ll likely want to follow by using the next option on this list.
