The Memphis Grizzlies are an objectively better team than they were at this time a year ago. Almost every individual player on the roster took drastic strides forward, which allowed for Memphis to make its first NBA Playoff appearance since the beginning of the team’s rebuild.

Hopefully, this will be reflected upon the release of NBA 2K22, which will have updated player ratings, team ratings, and anything you can imagine going forward. Barring any sort of controversy, the Grizz should take a step forward.

Today, I’m going to be predicting each Memphis Grizzlies player’s NBA 2K22 rating. The game releases on September 4th, so in order to get the real ratings, you’ll have to wait for them. These will have to suffice for now.

Memphis Grizzlies Player Rating Predictions: NBA 2K22

Yves Pons: Pons is technically on an Exhibit-10 contract, which means he’s technically not on the roster. That said, this can be converted into a two-way contract, and based on how he has played in Summer League, this is something Memphis would want to be done. Unfortunately, there may not be space and if there was, NBA 2K22 is almost guaranteed to give an undrafted free agent signing a terrible rating.

2K21 Rating: N/A

Predicted 2K22 Rating: 68

Sam Merrill: Merrill for Allen was a huge downgrade for the Grizzlies. That said, this isn’t a guy who is just going to be cut from the roster — he’s a serviceable shooter who played for an NBA Championship-winning team. His 44.7% 3-point shooting, even if it was at a low volume, should help Memphis in 2021-22. That said, his rating won’t reflect this.

2K21 Rating: 70

Predicted 2K22 Rating: 70
