With Kawhi Leonard out of action for (most likely) the entire 2021-22 season, the Memphis Grizzlies could find a trade partner in the Los Angeles Clippers.

This trade would involve the Memphis Grizzlies sending Dillon Brooks to the Clippers.

In exchange, the Clippers would send Keon Johnson, Serge Ibaka, and a second-round draft pick to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Johnson, a 19-year-old rookie from the University of Tennessee, was the 21st pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. He would be an exciting prospect for the Memphis Grizzlies to develop. The 19-year old broke a 20-year record at the NBA Draft Combine when he demonstrated a 48-inch vertical leap (beating the previous record of 45.5 inches).

Serge Ibaka would be included in the trade to make the salaries work. Ibaka is on an expiring deal and could potentially be bought out.

The Clippers would be getting a valuable, win-now asset to their team if they acquire Dillon Brooks. He could serve as a serviceable replacement in the absence of Kawhi Leonard. After this season, the team could repackage him to another team, or bring him off the bench for the final year of his contract.
